Ease of Doing Business

  • The Bihar Government has implemented a single window clearance system for the benefit of the investors
  • The Bihar Single Window Clearance Act, 2006, offers the following advantages:  
  • Rapid clearances of projects promote industrial growth 
  • Issuance of licenses and certificates and creation of an investor-friendly environment in the State
  • The Industries Department of the State and the District Industries Centre (DIC) act as nodal agencies for investment

Policy Incentives

  • Grant up to 40 per centof the project cost, subject to maximum of INR 10 Crores for SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle), in case of common cluster infrastructure and up to 35 per centof the project cost subject toa maximum INR 5 Crores, in case of an individual investor The Scheme has also been extended to existing investments made expansion and capacity increase of at least 50 per cent
  • 100 per centreimbursement of electricity duty, including that on captive power consumed by the same unit or exported to BSPHCL,is given to eligible units from the date of commencement of commercial production for a period of 5 years
  • Reimbursement of 50 per centcapital investment on plant and machinery for captive power generation/diesel generating sets with no upper limit
  • During the vision period, financial assistance is being provided for upgradation / setting up of around 9food-testing laboratories at the district level. A 100 per cent grant is provided towards the cost of equipment in case of state agencies or universities, and up to 75 per cent in case of private sector institutions.
  • It is proposed to offer a subsidy of 25 per cent on investment in plant and machinery for all Food Processing units in the State.
