Ease of Doing Business

  • The State Government has introduced key initiatives across 5 major areas - Single Window, Land and Utilities, Industrial Relations, Pollution Control and Commercial Taxes
  • A guide for Investors setting up Industrial Enterprises providing holistic information on infrastructure, registrations, approvals, etc. is available on the Single Window portal 
  • Under Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act (SAKALA ACT) timelines have been fixed for providing most industry related services 
  • Online application facility available for seeking NOC from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services 
  • Forest Department has exempted all notified industrial areas from seeking prior permission for felling of trees 
  • Validity of the “Consent for Establishment” (CFE) has been extended to 5 years 
  • Entire State has been defined as a single zone for availing incentives 

Policy Incentives

  • Investment promotion subsidy at 35 per cent of the cost of fixed assets,with a maximum of INR 65 lakhs, is available for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
  • Interest subsidy of 6 per cent per annum is offered to Micro Enterprises for 7 years 
  • Subsidy of 50 per cent of the cost (maximum of INR 1 lakh) for technology adoption from recognized national labs 
  • In 2014, became the first State to establish an unified e-trading platform - Rashtriya e-Market Services Limited (ReMS) 
  • First State to introduce a Multi-Sector Startup Policy in 2015, which supports new product development in Agri-business and Food Processing
